I Just Want To Use A Hammer - New this year - this class is guaranteed to be a popular hit for years to come!

Inspired by you, the parents! We took your requests for more hands-on projects and valuable skill learning to create this class. As one parent said “My kid just wants to use a hammer” and in our “I Just Want to Use A Hammer” camp kids will be doing just that - and much more.

Each of our makers will be taking on the role of contractor for a week. They will be responsible for framing their very own section of wall. Although this may sound fun they will be on a tight schedule to get the job done on time. Their wall will need to be framed, wired, plumbed, dry walled, spackled, finished, and painted by the end of the week. Each day our little contractors will need to complete the work scheduled before we can start on side projects. Signing up for this class means your child has been hired for a job and will learn how to prioritize tasks to complete the project by a set deadline. Like most contractors your child will start out as an apprentice learning and perfecting new skills while on the job. Upon job completion they may consider themselves a contractor.

Expect to get hands-on with hammers, drills, clamps, wires, pipe, spackle, paint, stud finders, and more. Please dress appropriately, and feel free to bring your own tool belt.

Light snacks, juice boxes, and water will be provided. We highly recommend feeding your future contractor a substantial breakfast before camp - fixing things is hard work. Makers will be using paint, glue, etc - please dress for a mess!
